Cookie & Storage Policy
What lives on your device.
AcadLink uses no tracking cookies. Here is an honest breakdown of the small amount of data stored in your browser and why it is there.
Contents
01
Overview
AcadLink does not use traditional browser cookies. Instead, we use localStorage — a browser mechanism that stores small pieces of data on your device. This page explains exactly what we store, why, and how you can clear it.
Unlike cookies, localStorage data is never sent to our servers automatically. It stays on your device and is only read by the AcadLink web app when you use it.
This policy applies to the AcadLink web app at acadlink.app.
02
What We Store in Your Browser
acadlink_tokenKeeps you logged in between sessions. Without this, you would need to sign in every time you open the app.
Until you log out or clear your browser data.
acadlink_current_userStores a lightweight copy of your profile (name, username, avatar, role) so the app can display your information immediately without an API call on every page load.
Until you log out or clear your browser data.
acadlink_themeRemembers whether you prefer light mode or dark mode.
Indefinite — until you change the setting or clear browser data.
03
Push Notification Tokens (FCM)
If you grant permission for push notifications, your device registers with Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) — a service operated by Google. FCM generates a unique token for your device.
This token is stored in our database (not in your browser) and is used solely to deliver notifications to your device from AcadLink.
Revoking notification permission in your browser settings will stop new notifications. To remove your token from our database entirely, email support@acadlink.app.
Firebase's data handling is governed by Google's Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
04
Third-Party Analytics
AcadLink uses Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to understand aggregate usage patterns (page views, performance metrics). These tools do not use cookies and do not track individual users across sites.
No advertising networks, tracking pixels, or cross-site trackers are used on AcadLink.
05
How to Clear Your Stored Data
