Community Guidelines
How we treat each other.
AcadLink is a private space for Vidya Vihar students. These guidelines exist to keep it respectful, authentic, and useful for everyone.

01
Why These Guidelines Exist
AcadLink is a private campus network built by a student, for students. To keep it a place where everyone feels safe to share, learn, and connect, we need a shared set of standards.
These guidelines apply to everything you post, comment, share, or send on AcadLink — including posts, notes, poll options, profile bios, and resource uploads.
Violations are handled by the platform admin. Consequences range from a warning to a permanent account ban depending on severity.
02
Be Respectful
Treat every member the way you would want to be treated in person. Disagreements are fine — disrespect is not.
Do not post content that insults, degrades, or personally attacks another student, faculty member, or staff. This includes sarcastic "jokes" that are obviously meant to hurt.
Do not post or share content that discriminates based on gender, caste, religion, region, language, disability, or any other characteristic.
03
No Harassment or Bullying
Harassment means repeatedly targeting someone with unwanted messages, mentions, or content. If someone has asked you to stop, stop.
Do not use AcadLink to intimidate, threaten, or coerce anyone. This includes posts, comments, and direct interactions through the platform.
Do not create posts or polls designed to humiliate a specific person, even without naming them if the intent is clear.
If you are being harassed, use the report button on any post or profile. Reports are reviewed by the admin.
04
Post Authentic Content
Do not impersonate another student, faculty member, or any official college body. Your profile must represent you.
Do not spread misinformation — especially about college events, exam schedules, results, or administrative decisions. If you are unsure whether something is true, do not post it as fact.
Do not post content that is copied from another source without attribution. Academic plagiarism principles apply here too.
Satire and opinion are allowed, but they must be clearly identifiable as such.
05
Keep Content Appropriate
AcadLink is a campus platform. Do not post sexually explicit, graphic, or otherwise NSFW content of any kind.
Do not post graphic violence, gore, or content that glorifies harm to people or animals.
Stickers and emojis are supported — use them in good spirit. Do not use them to bypass content filters or to make harassment look friendly.
Profile pictures and cover images must be appropriate for a college environment.
06
No Spam or Self-Promotion Abuse
Do not flood the feed with repetitive posts, chain-style content, or mass-mention campaigns.
You can share your own projects, events, or opportunities — but do so in the right section (Opportunities or Resources). Spamming the main feed with promotional content will result in post removal.
Do not share referral links, affiliate links, or links to unrelated external services.
07
Respect Others' Privacy
Do not post photos, videos, or personal information about another person without their consent.
Do not share private conversations, screenshots of DMs, or confidential information shared in trust.
Do not attempt to find, guess, or expose another user's personal details such as phone number, home address, or financial information.
08
Resources and Notes
Only upload resources that are genuinely useful to other students — notes, solved papers, reference PDFs, and similar academic material.
Do not upload copyrighted textbooks or paid study materials. Share only what you are legally allowed to share.
Label your uploads accurately. Mislabelling a resource (wrong subject, semester, or branch) wastes other students' time.
09
How to Report
Every post and profile has a three-dot menu with a Report option. Use it if you see content that violates these guidelines.
Reports are reviewed by the admin. We do not reveal who filed a report.
Do not abuse the report system to target users you dislike. False reports are themselves a violation of these guidelines.
For urgent matters — threats, doxxing, or serious harassment — email us directly at support@acadlink.app.
10
Consequences of Violations
Minor violations (spam, mislabelled resources) — post removal and a warning.
Moderate violations (harassment, misinformation, impersonation) — post removal, temporary posting restriction, or temporary account suspension.
Severe violations (threats, explicit content, sustained harassment campaigns) — immediate permanent account ban.
The admin's decisions are final. If you believe a decision was made in error, email support@acadlink.app with context.
11
Changes to These Guidelines
These guidelines may be updated as the platform grows. Changes will be announced via the platform's notice board.
Continued use of AcadLink after an update means you accept the revised guidelines.
